CompassionCare Hospice is a proud member of the We Honor Veterans Program, an organization working to provide quality services through the end-of-life to our veterans and their families. Improving veterans’ access to hospice and palliative care across all sites and levels of care to assure that every veteran is able to receive hospice care at the time and place of need, is the goal of We Honor Veterans.

Hospice Care is comfort care provided to you and your family if you have a life-limiting illness and are no longer seeking treatment other than palliative care. Hospice is centered on palliative care, managing pain and symptoms so that every moment can be as comfortable and rewarding as possible. We honor your wishes, whatever they may be. Hospice Care can be provided at home, in an outpatient clinic or in an inpatient setting. Since Hospice Care is part of the VHA Standard Medical Benefits Package, all enrolled Veterans are eligible if they meet medical criteria. There are no out of pocket expenses for Hospice Care whether it is provided by the VA or an organization with a VA contract.

CompassionCare Hospice is one of only 3 hospices in the Las Vegas area contracted with the Veterans Association. We support not only our patients but their family members and loved ones as well. We’ve found that our patients appreciate being in familiar surroundings-with their symptoms carefully managed. In fact, once patients and their families experience hospice, they often say they wish they’d known about it sooner. CompassionCare strives to keep patients at home offering patients and caregivers vital support and education throughout their hospice journey.

By clicking on the link below you can use a shared decision making worksheet and/or a caregiving self-assessment tool to help you figure out what care best fits your needs now or in the future so you and your family are prepared. Talk with your physician or VA case worker about hospice services, they can help you make the best decision about end-of-life-care.
