Immunizations (vaccinations) helps us to prevent dangerous and sometimes deadly diseases. To stay protected against serious illnesses like the flu, measles, and pneumonia, we need to be sure and get these immunizations. Both kids and adults alike. Immunization Awareness Month is a great time to promote vaccines and remind family, friends, and coworkers to stay up to date on their shots. Talk to friends and loved ones about how vaccines aren’t just for kids. People of all ages can get shots to protect them from serious diseases. Have a conversation with your doctor or nurse about why it’s important for all kids (and adults) to get vaccinated.

Six months and older should receive the flu vaccination every year-other vaccines work best at certain ages:

*Children 6 and younger (http://www.2a.cdc.gov/nip/kidstuff/newscheduler le/)

*Adults & Teens (http://www2.cdc/gov/nip/adultlmmSched/)

*Review this chart to be sure you are up to date on shots (http://ww.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/downloads/adult/adult-schedule-easy-read.pdf)

*If you’re pregnant (http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/downloads/f preg chart.pdf)
