Social work month is almost over, but CompassionCare Hospice is still celebrating. March is the month we set aside to acknowledge the nation’s more than 600,000 social workers. Social Work is one of the fastest growing professions in the United States. Honor social workers and point out to others the hard work of social workers that usually goes unnoticed. The theme for 2016 is “Social Work: Forging Solutions Out of Challenges.” Social workers bring many important contributions to the table. They help individuals, families, friends, and communities face many challenging problems with many positive outcomes. Social workers want the best for any situation. They develop solutions to make mental health and health care more available, to reduce poverty, to eliminate injustice and discrimination, and to protect vulnerable children and adults from harm. Social workers are the largest group of mental health care providers in the United States They help people overcome depression, anxiety, substance abuse and other disorders so they can lead more fulfilling lives and be the best they can be. CompassionCare Hospice recognizes the caring nature of social workers. We want to say thank you!
