Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is an event to raise awareness for breast cancer. It is a great fundraiser as well. Susan G. Komen is the largest nonprofit supporter of breast cancer research. This research is used to help find new treatments and cures for breast cancer. Komen’s work doesn’t just stop at research. They also provide funding to programs for the underserved, funding for programs that assist with child care and/or transportation for those undergoing treatment, and information and education for those impacted. They also provide support to survivors and their families. Komen believes every woman should have access to quality care. Every 2 minutes, a life is changed. A case of breast cancer is diagnosed in a woman in the U.S. 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer knows no boundaries whether it be age, gender, socio-economic status, or geographical location. This year, the Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure is May 7, 2016 on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. There is a 5k run, 5k walk, and a mile walk. Times vary. There is something for everyone. CompassionCare Hospice of Las Vegas is showing their support. We want you to as well. You can make a difference. The Race for the Cure will be here before you know it.
